A classic winters day
This time last year, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Vicky and Sam’s wedding at The Great Barn in Devon. It was one of those classic winter days where the light was crisp and bright, the winds were wild, and the whole atmosphere felt alive with energy and excitement.
The day started with something I absolutely loved—a “first look” at Haldon Belvedere Tower. There’s something so magical about a private moment between the couple before the ceremony, and this was no exception. With the winds swirling and the dramatic views stretching out for miles, Vicky and Sam shared an emotional, joy-filled moment that set the tone for the rest of the day.
Their ceremony and reception took place in The Great Barn, nestled in the stunning rolling hills of Devon. This historic barn is truly breathtaking, with its huge beams and rustic charm. It has that undeniable wow factor, perfect for a celebration filled with love and laughter.
After a heartfelt ceremony, the reception kicked off in style with fantastic speeches. And can we take a moment to talk about Vicky’s speech, I absolutely loved it! There’s something so empowering about a bride stepping up to share her thoughts and emotions on the day. Her words were heartfelt, eloquent, and full of love—and yes, my inner feminist was quietly cheering in the corner!
The combination of stunning locations, personal touches, and the undeniable connection between Vicky and Sam made this wedding such a joy to capture. The wild winds only added to the beauty of the day, with Vicky’s veil swirling dramatically and the Devon countryside looking its absolute best.
