There are some places on Dartmoor that just stay with you, and for me, Badgers Holt Weddings is one of those special spots. Tucked away where the East Dart and West Dart rivers meet, this iconic corner of the moor was once a much-loved tearoom, and somewhere I remember visiting as a child in the ’80s. Fast forward to today, and it’s now one of the most beautiful, relaxed wedding venues in Devon and it was the perfect setting for Hannah and Sam’s gorgeous summer wedding.
The River Dart
Badgers Holt Weddings is set right on the banks of the River Dart, with riverside views, and an ancient clapper bridge and that raw Dartmoor beauty all around you. It’s a dream for any couple who wants something a bit more natural and grounded, and as a Devon wedding photographer, it’s the kind of location I could photograph in all year round. Hannah and Sam are outdoor lovers so this was a perfect spot for couple photos
Dartmoor Wedding
Hannah and Sam were an absolute joy to work with—completely relaxed, up for adventure, and full of laughter. One of my favourite moments was watching Hannah hitch up her beautiful wedding dress and confidently hop across the granite boulders with Sam for some wild couple portraits. That’s the kind of couple I love, laid-back, and making memories in the beauty of Dartmoor. 😍

- The Riverside Garden Room – full of light and right beside the river
- The Banquet Fireside Room – warm and rustic, ideal for those chillier Dartmoor days
- The Garden Bandstand or Boutique Marquee – outdoor options with wild views and fresh moorland air

Every part of Hannah and Sam’s day felt personal, relaxed and full of meaning. This is a venue that doesn’t need much dressing up—the landscape does it all for you. You can just be yourselves, surrounded by your favourite people, and enjoy one of the most beautiful settings in Devon for a wedding.
