A Bovey Castle Elopement | Hannah & Praveen
Some days are just pure joy, and Hannah and Praveen’s Bovey Castle elopement was one of those picture perfect days. Sparkling sunshine, a stunning couple, and the timeless backdrop of Bovey Castle, it had all the elements for a relaxed and meaningful Bovey Castle Elopement. With a few really special extras…Grace the Barn Owl delivering the rings and a herd of highland cows joining in for the portraits.
The day started with a personal and heartfelt ceremony led by Ceremonies by Lisa, complete with a traditional handfasting. One of my favourite moments was when their wedding rings were delivered by Grace, a sweet little barn Owl from Dartmoor Hawking, it was such a unique and memorable touch that felt perfectly at home in this beautiful Dartmoor setting.
Hannah looked absolutely stunning. Her flawless hair and makeup was by the talented Rebecca at Wedding Hair and Makeup. I always love working with her, she’s amazing at creating relaxed yet elegant bridal looks. Hannah’s delicate floral headpiece was handmade by Rebecca and her gorgeous bouquet and flowers were created by Alla of Bristol, adding so much texture and colour to the day.

A Dartmoor excursion
After the ceremony at Bovey Castle it was time for a little Dartmoor adventure! My trusty (and freshly polished!) tiny blue Toyota Corolla was the perfect ride to head up onto the moor. We went in search of the famous Highland cows, and lucky us we found them right in their usual spot. It was the dream backdrop for relaxed, natural portraits, perfectly reflecting Hannah and Praveen’s adventurous spirits. and I know they were really hoping for highland cows…they did not disappoint! there were also a few lovely ponies roaming around as well.

Bovey Castle really is one of Devon’s most iconic venues. With its luxurious interiors, five-star service, and breathtaking surroundings, it’s the perfect place for couples planning an intimate elopement or wedding. Being able to step straight from this elegant venue into the wild beauty of Dartmoor National Park is what makes it truly special and I am happy to help with this as I have extensive knowledge of the best spots that are really close to the hotel and where if you are lucky we might find a whole herd of highland cows.
