Tucked away near Moretonhampstead on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, Clifford Barton is one of those truly special venues that blends rustic charm, woodland beauty, and a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for couples looking for a wedding with character. With its beautiful barns, lakeside ceremony, and canoe-turned-bar, it’s a dream spot for a Devon countryside wedding.

Thomas and Chloe’s day was unique and a true celebration of them as a couple. Every detail felt deeply personal, from handwritten notes for each guest as wedding favours to hand-painted signage lovingly created by a friend. Their florals were full of summer charm, displayed in classic milk churns that added to the countryside feel. It was these thoughtful touches that made the whole celebration feel so warm, welcoming, and completely “them.”
The Reception
The atmosphere was incredible from start to finish—full of laughter, heartfelt moments, and so much love. Thomas gave one of the funniest and most heartfelt speeches I’ve heard, having the entire room both laughing and tearing up in turn. The Dartmoor weather was kind to us too, with plenty of sunshine and just a few quick showers to keep it feeling fresh and give some dramatic lighting.
Clifford Barton is one of my favourite Dartmoor wedding venues because it’s so versatile. You can exchange vows in a beautiful indoor barn or have a lakeside wedding ceremony surrounded by trees, with stunning views and plenty of space to celebrate. It’s the perfect spot for couples who want a mix of rustic charm and relaxed elegance, and Thomas and Chloe brought it to life in the best way.
Their wedding was a true reflection of their personalities—creative, thoughtful, and overflowing with love. It was such a joy to capture every moment of this special day in one of Devon’s most beautiful locations.
