A perfectly formed micro wedding in The Roman Baths

If you are looking for inspiration for your micro wedding then look no further than this beautifully formed micro wedding of 15 people. It was a riot of colour and fun with a spectacular backdrop of the iconic Roman baths. It was my last wedding of 2020 and what a show stopper it was.

LOVED everything about this day and it was a joy to photograph. Betty and Charles are completely unflappable, which helps immensely when planning a wedding in a pandemic! This day flowed and wowed in equal measures and is a testament to their love and good humour.

They chose(or maybe it chose them!) a sunrise slot of 8.30am in the Roman baths, this was certainly unique to me – the earliest I have ever been booked-and so glad that Betty and Charles did because it was super atmospheric in the baths. It was a cold December morning and the steam was rising from the water, as a few guests began arriving and started setting up the ceremony, this gave me time to explore and get a few pictures before the bride arrived. I had shot in this venue before but the last time was midday in the height of summer, swarms of tourists and no a pandemic! Such a unique experience to be able to wander freely around the baths when no one is around. I highly recommend a sunrise wedding just for that reason.

These guys may have had their wedding numbers curtailed because of the covid restrictions and had to move dates, but that did not stop the love, colour, flair, and total joy of this day. It was big on heart. There were so many little extras that Betty and Charles had arranged for the day that made it so bright and vibrant. Firstly they had ordered a stack load of smoke bombs which was super fun, and they were ready to fire them!! and they had booked a beautiful vintage car from Kenkars to transport then around bath, which was a fantastic touch in such a historic city and made for some great photo opps.
It was a real joy to explore Bath with the Bride and Groom and visit all the spots they love to be, we even had a little visit from their gorgeous cockerpoo-he is a little darling and joined for a doorstep photoshoot at the grooms parents. Dogs and weddings are a fav of mine and this little pooch loved getting in the photos, he even tried getting a few kisses in!
