A Gothic Wedding on Dartmoor | Zoë & Ted at Badgers Holt
If you ever needed proof that weddings don’t have to follow tradition to be utterly beautiful, Zoe and Ted’s gothic Dartmoor wedding was it. This stunning October celebration at Badgers Holt Weddings was full of personality, laughter, and the most incredible autumnal styling. Rich colours, unique ideas and lots of personal touches.
Zoe and Ted absolutely nailed their gothic wedding style. Dressed in all black, they looked effortlessly cool against Dartmoor’s moody autumn colours. Think deep reds, burnt oranges, and inky blacks everywhere you looked. Even the details carried that theme: rich and wonderful florals by Ettie Wolfe at Atelier of green, candles, and the warm glow of mulled cider in hand as guests gathered along the riverside. It was cozy, fun, and completely unique, exactly how a Dartmoor wedding should feel in October.
It’s like Dartmoor also got the memo about the colour scheme. The area around Badgers Holt is full of gorgeous Tors and and views and if you visit in Autumn you will see an abundance of red hawthorn berries and the ferns have gone a deep rusty red colour which is the my favourite pallete to photograph. We had a magical little photoshoot at Sharptor which is less than a 5 minute drive from the venue.

What I loved most about their day was how personal it was. Every choice reflected who they are as a couple — creative, fun, and full of heart. My absolute favorite kind of wedding to photograph. The laughter never stopped, and there was this brilliant mix of gothic elegance and relaxed countryside charm that suited Badgers Holt perfectly.

Zoe and Ted’s wedding was a joy from start to finish — a beautiful mix of gothic styling, autumn colour, and genuine love.
