A spring wedding at Huntsham Church in Devon | Leanne and Carn’s joyful celebration at Huntsham court
I never tire of a gorgeous ceremony in the Church at Huntsham. Walking the grounds there is always something different to capture or a new angle to view the country house.
Leanne and Carn’s March wedding at Huntsham Church and Huntsham Court was full of warmth, laughter and personality. It was a relaxed spring wedding in Devon, with snowdrops and daffodils in full bloom across the grounds. Having the beautiful church right within the estate makes this venue particularly special.
The day began with a ceremony at Huntsham Church before everyone made the short three minute walk up the driveway to Huntsham Court for the celebrations. Combining a traditional church wedding with a country house reception works perfectly here and gives the day a lovely natural flow.
By the time everyone arrived at the house the atmosphere was already buzzing. Friends and family gathered in the elegant rooms of Huntsham Court and the celebrations quickly settled into a relaxed and joyful rhythm.
Spring weddings at Huntsham Court have a charm all of their own, and Leanne and Carn’s day was a great reminder that you do not need a summer date to create a brilliant Devon wedding.
Spring portraits around the grounds of Huntsham Court
One of my favourite parts of the day was heading out with Leanne and Carn for a few quiet moments of couple portraits around the grounds of Huntsham Court.
Early spring is such a beautiful time here. The grounds were dotted with snowdrops and daffodils, and we found some lovely hidden corners for photographs away from the buzz of the celebrations. The soft March light and fresh greenery gave everything a really natural feel.
These little pauses in the day are always special. They give the couple a chance to step away for a few minutes, take it all in and enjoy a bit of calm together before heading back to the party.

Relaxed documentary style photography
This wedding had an abundance of humour and good vibes from the start, from the comedy portraits with the boys in the morning to the constant laughter throughout the day, everything felt relaxed and full of fun. Nothing was forced, and the whole atmosphere was light hearted and joyful.
Leanne and Carn completely embraced the day as it should be. Nothing was too much trouble and they approached everything with love, open hearts and a great sense of humour, which made the whole celebration feel easy and genuine.
This is exactly the kind of wedding I love to photograph. My approach to Devon wedding photography is relaxed and documentary in style. I like to capture the real moments of the day as they unfold rather than directing things too much. A few gentle prompts during couple portraits and then I step back and let the day happen naturally.
It means the photographs reflect the real energy of the day. The laughter, the hugs, the unexpected moments and all the small details that make each wedding unique.
